Just purchased 1971 corvette. Noticed few things need help with. Only observed one interior light, (left side driver leg area) and one light in rear area. Problem is they only go on when passenger door is open?
Should also be one in the passenger side footwell. The switches are on the A-pillar in the jamb. The ones at the rear of the door are for the "Door Ajar" light.
Driver side switch could be disconnected, have a broken wire, or just be dirty and not grounding.
The lights should also go on when you turn the panel dimmer full clockwise.

I'd pull the door jamb switch on the driver side... and the jump the wires together that plug into the back of the switch. If the switch is bad, the lights should come on. If this happens, replace the switch.
If you pull it out and there are not any wires on the switch then remove the left side kick panel and you should see the wires inside the A pillar. If you find this, then touch the wires together and see if the lights come on, if they do then reattach the wires to the switch and test again.
