Well, the AMP is in, new rear 6x9's in so now the stereo!! Hope this is sounds as good as it looks. I did not want to go nuts on a super good unit so, the spec's look good on this and the price was right..
I have the same stereo in my 73, it is BY FAR the best value for the dollar. Where else can you get a brand-name MP3 CD player for the price of a normal CD player?
You should nave let me know, I would have stopped by!! NCRS, ya I know, but!! Everything I have done can be unbolted and the OEM stuff put right back in with no mods :D
An excellent value at about $229.00US! It is not high-end sound but it does very well for the price. It will not set off car alarms with a boom-boom but I am happy with it.
Joe,
Hi there, are you going to the car show in Montgomery tomorrow? Its at Valley Central High School on Rt. 17k. I have gone for the past 3 years and its a good show.
Well, take care and keep safe.

Re: Got a new JVC stereo!! (Richard Cooper)
I've got one of those JVC head units and they are great. THe sound in my car is phenominal. The key is a good amplifier and speakers. Unless you have top of the line speakers no head unit is going to sound good.
I would spend more on the speakers than anything else, most head units will supply a clean enough signal when coupled with a high quaility amp and then finished off the top notch speakers the sound is going to be excellent.
YOu can't get away with 6 in. or 6X9 in the back you need some type of cabinet setup. I have Bose 301's in the back with Kicker plate speaker s in the dash and 6 inch JVC's in the kick panels and 2 Alpine amps ( one for back channel and one for front channel) , the surround sound is awsome. :D

Re: Got a new JVC stereo!! (paul79)
I did not go that far. These units are fine for me. And that is not a criticism of your setup.
Ditto for my post too, I am only trying to help and in this area I can offer something, maybe I should have said 6x9 are fine but you will get much better sound from a cabinet type arragment.
My point is that you can can have a middle of the line head unit and still get great sound if you mate it with a good sey of speakers :D

Hey Richie,
Would love to go but made other committment before I know about the show. However, I don't have to be to Connecticut until 12 or os. I may try to cruise out in the morning for an hour or so.
I'm happy with the Sony I had installed, my only thing is, that I cannot seem to find a plate to put across the unit while the head is off.. O don't like leaving electronic connections exposed
