taming the beast

First, it ran hot: I did a flush and new coolant, and at least around town it runs at 195.
One headlight door was slow to come up. The goofiest thing happened. When I touched up the paint on the rear edge of the opening in the front panel, it works much faster. I think it might be rubbing when it opens, but until I get it painted, I have a temporary fix.
The A/C has a slow leak (might be the dual hose clamps Bubba put on the low side hose to the compressor). But at least I can stay cool on the way to and from work while I fix it at night. It holds a charge for a few weeks at least, and it doesn't go completely empty.
While fixing the squealing left rear wheel caused by a wayward e-brake spring I noticed a caliper leaking. Replaced the caliper, bled the breaks and EUREKA! :D I don't have to push the pedal 1/2 way to the floor to stop!
Yesterday I got a jack and handle in the mail to replace the one the car was missing when I bought it.
I need a suspension kit for the front, but in mean time, I rotated the tires and actually got some with rubber on it up front (it makes it look like I smoke up the rears a lot with the balder ones back there
Yep, everyday the beast gets a little more tame. Now I'm really starting to have fun driving it. Much less of a handful and more confidence inspiring to drive. ;) :jester ) . Anyway, now I can go in a straight line without white-knuckking the steering wheel!
