Default 1976 Stingray

I'm using a wiring diagram and I'm having a couple problems finding things. A. Where's the battery? B. My group is having an issue with the ignition. We found a unconnected yellow wire under the steering column, and another yellow wire in the dash that was taped to a clear harness. I think I could just use some help reading wiring diagrams with placement.

The battery is on the right side of the 2nd page, has the thick black cable going to it.

Hi LA.
As 75 indicated.
One short cable running to the frame for 'ground', and a long cable running to the starter solenoid.
Regards,
Alan
