Default What years had a front mono-leaf

Just wondering, what years of the C3 had a front mono leaf spring (like the rear). I have a 1979 and don't have one, but I see pics occasionally of older C3s that have a leaf spring up front as well as in back. Did this give any added benefit? Why did GM go away from this design?

None. The front mono spring came with the C4s.

There's a kit you can buy from VB&P to convert the front to a monspring, maybe that's what you were seeing.
