um... boy did i really F this up.. from what i can see everything is installed properly, all the check ***** are where they should be, governor tubes are still up there.. when i first started the car on jackstands, i went from park R N 3 2 1 i could hear it go into gear, then i brought it back through the gears placed it in park, and tried it again only this time it wouldnt go into gear. so i went back underneath and checked the linkage and saw it move from gear to gear. and gave it a tap. tried it again with the car running and i got nothing. anyone install their own kit on a TH 400 ? I'm just wondering how the shift selector (inside) goes against the valve body. i think thats my culprit. anyone with pictures or somethin? any help will be appreciated
It's been a LONG time since I did a 400 turbo...but as I remember, the shift linkage has to fit in a slotted end of a valve in the body there, and that's your shift...if it slips out, you are in one gear, period....
had the same sort of thing cause me to drop the pan on my 700 turbo here....pissed me off...but it was just a dropped shift lever/bar from the valve to the input lever...inside the pan, natch....
