Default Center Gauge

Gents I am In the process of putting in a new(old) dash. Mine was badly cracked on pass. side.
It appears that some prev. owner added/modified the center gauge cluster. Any ideas as to why or what the mod accomplished.
Should I take the wires off that were added??? Would you replace the circuit pad??

I would guess he did it to bypass a bad connection.

Short answer: I would replace the printed circuit board.

It would appear that's a "repair" made to fix a circuit on the board was opened (usually caused by a short to ground) resulting in an open land pattern on the board.

Fix it once and fix it right.

If you look at the pcb, look for a burned spot. If the original owner had a short there was a time when these were not available so he probably jumpered the circuit.

The circuits are available now in reproduction and will work just fine.

Just now figuring that out? Join the club. Unexpected expense is a C3 way of life.
