1972 lap belt questions
Hi,
I'm trying to find photos of how GM installed the lap belts on 1972 models. My car did not have original carpet so I do not know if the belt retractor unit was bolted directly to the floor pan and cover and carpet laid over it or was carpet cut out OR was the retractor unit bolted THROUGH the carpet-pad and cover put on.

Hi D,
For 72 the seat belt retractor plastic cover was mounted on top of the carpet that ran under the seat… the carpet was cut to some degree in order to mount the retractor.
