Default Radiator Support

Hi guys,
Me and my father are the new owners of a 76 C3 Corvette L48 Auto with AC
The cars needs some love, and money
The Build date code is J19 which if im not wrong means it was built on the 19th of May.
While searching for the radiator support and miscellaneous parts for it, I was confronted by the fact that the supports are different for early and late 1976 models,
so which one should I get?

thank you all

Hi AN,
Which core support you need can be determined by the fan shroud being used.
Later 76 shrouds have 2 'tabs' that require the core support to have 2 'slots' in it.
The earlier 76 shroud doesn't have the tabs, so no slots were cut into the core support.
Regards,
Alan

Thank you for the reply.
Unfortunately the car has no fan shroud, the previous owner took it out and installed 2 eletric fans.
so my question still persists, any opinions are more then welcomed

I would guess early , but I would look for a part number on the radiator since you have that and then see if it's early or late and determine the support and shroud that way.

Hi A,
Was the core support in your car so modified that you can't see whether it has 2 slots or not?
They're along the bottom edge, so unless the support was completely cut apart I'd think that area of the support is still intact.

All the available new core supports are made by one company Coffman Corvette.
I'd contact them and see if they can advise you as to when the change occurred.

As of right now the car is in the workshop, i cant check the radiator support for the 2slots..

maybe the best thing is to contact Coffman with the VIN and build date and see what they say
