Is this what you're talking about? Bottom of the page, $33/set? For the price, why not?

I just got thru replacing my under body insulation, the foil backed fiberglass, the steel shields and all the foam rubber blocks. I ended up replacing almost all of the clips (they were either rusted off or broken). It wasn't that hard of a job, one I figured out how those odd pieces fit under the car and were held in place.
I have no idea if it will help, but I'll find out in a couple of weeks when I get my car back on the road. Thanks to J.B. and Chuck Gongloff along with some other guys who were very helpful I was able to get it all fit under the car fairly neatly. After I had the insulation in place I triple covered all the seams and overlaps with 3" wide aluminum tape. I figure this should really help hold the stuff in place.
Special thanks to the Forum Member who sent me pictures of the underside of their car that detailed the exact location of all the insulation clips, I don't have his handle available at this time, but the guy was a true saint!

thanx for the info...
i asked ZIP why their underbody insulation only listed peices for up to 1976...
they told me that corvettes before 1976 corvettes had fiberglass floors...and after 1976 they had steel floors...
therefore they wernt needed in vettes after 1976!
i felt like saying "evedently you havent riden in a vette in florida !
i didnt know this about the floors...it that true?
anyways...he said that i couldnt use them in mine because there is nothing for the clips to clip to with the steel floors...
it seems to me that the basic shape is the same and that i could find a way to fasten them...
im especialy thinking about the tunnel peice...
what are your thoughts about this?

You could fasten the clips to a steel floor just like the fiberglass floor, with rivets. I used 3/16" aluminum pop rivets to replace the original rivets which were still there. The roughest part of putting in the clips on my car was removing the old rivets.

I think replacing bad insulation, tunnel shield, etc is a very good thing. My own opinion on those frame foam blocks is a big mistake. They were installed as a heat shield, well we all know how well that worked. What they did in fact is trap moisture and rust out the frame and rocker channels. I have living proof with my 75 (fixed now). I was hoping this post was about the exhaust system heat shields which seem impossible to get right now. As far as I've been able to tell after market has not started reproducing these yet.

I would also think about wraping the headers (thermotec or else) around the areas closest to idler arm, starter solenoid and steering gear as all these components are sensitive to extensive heat. Idler arm rubber will wear faster, starter solenoid goes bad quicker (I would also wrap the solenoid with reflective foil as the stock heat shield will not clear haeders most probably), steering gear grease will become fluid as water resulting in earlier leaking.
