Hi, everyone. I'm sort of new to this classic corvette thing and I'm currently restoring and making plans on upgrades to do to my corvette. I know I definitely want to supercharge it and stick a blower out of the hood. I know a lot of people disagree with this look and think the body should stay like it is but I personally love it and really would like help on what parts and upgrades I need to do to the engine before I'm able to supercharge it and also what type of supercharger I need that would fit the engine. I know I would like a roots-style supercharger but that's pretty much the extension of my knowledge on the subject. If you can help me please do! Please don't just turn away because you disagree with the look of it. Thank you for your help!
The coolest blower to stick out of the hood is a 671 in my humble opinion and they typically do not produce a whole lot of boost (as compared to a centrifugal unit for example). Not sure what the scope of your build will be, do you have a HP goal or are you just looking for the look, sound and some extra power?
You should be able to stick a 671 right on your current block and start measuring for the belt and front pulley clearances. It is actually quite an easy add on, you are just working in a tight space with the radiator tilted back like it is.
You will have to go to electric cooling and remove the shroud for clearance at a minimum, I'm sure some people with more experience will be along shortly.
