Default 1976 corvette starting issue
put new battery in, drove for hour, tried to start it click noise wont turn over

are the connections clean and tight, is the alt belt also tight will it start if you use jumper cables, also helps if you tell us what year and more info on the car

It sounds like your alternator isn't charging.

check for voltage coming out of alternator, check volt at battery, report back to us, motr will need to be running to check alternator, can be off to check battery voltage. battery should of lasted more than an hour.
