Default c3 front light door - strange corners

Hi all,

on the picture you can see that the corners upper left and right of my light doors seems a little bit strange. It is as if they have been cut a little bit. Also the door alignment isn't perfect. Why would someone cut a little part off. Or is it just a wrond light door alignment?

I can't tell whether the openings have been trimmed, but the doors need alignment.

Probably fix with alignment of doors. If you take off grilles and lic plate bracket you will see each door has 3 1/2 bolts holding them at hinge on each side. Now the ones on outside are a challenge to get at. Can only feel them. I took the bumper mount and rod off each side to get access to my arm. You just loosen them a bit and you can adjust up or down and forward. Not a huge amount of adjustment but some.
You can google a pic as I don't have any

As said above.
It might be that the bearings are worn out or the bearing assembly (11) is out of adjustment.
You will have to take a closer look.

Hi dl,
Here's one of the bushings that h described.
There are 2 on each door frame that the 'pins' on the headlight door pivot in.
There is some adjustment possible and it often doesn't take much to improve the door fit in the hood surround.

Tough to get to but worth the effort.

Don't want to think this, BUT…. is there any chance the headlight reinforcement beam that's bonded to the underside of the hood surround just to the rear of the headlight openings has come loose? This could be another cause for the lack of fit shown in your photo.

Regards,
Alan

Alan 71. Are those doors reversable? Meaning that they could be on the wrong side.
Or do they need to be rotated 180* in their own opening? Just asking, never had mine off before.

Hi,
The doors are left and rights, so they're not reversible side to side.
