Default hurst ball shifter connection help

I am pretty sure I have a hurst T-ball shifter on my 69 4 speed as it appears to just connect with what looks like 2 bolts. My problem is that the shifter literally fell off, so I am hoping something has some pictures of the hardware needed to connect it to the transmission and a source for where I could find the parts. I did find what looks to be some sort of spacer down in the transmission tunnel. Any tips/suggestions are greatly appreciated

Hi tuckerdawg,, your right the shifter handle, stock or hurst has 2 vertical holes to attach to the shifter itself. Did the bolts break, fall off etc.?

Hi, I found a pic of my Hurst handle, I'll try and find a better one, you can only see 1 bolt in this pic. I'm sure Alan 71 will have a better photo, he's the "man". tm

That appears to be a Hurst shifter- the mount plate on the tail housing is the giveaway. The factory shifter had a mount that set it on the crossmember. Mine has a pair of 3/8 bolts that hold the stick on the shifter body, along with a reinforcement plate.
I suspect that you can find the install instructions on the web that will show you how it all mounts and the bolt lengths. If yu have to replace any of them, I'd go with grade 8.
If it's not a Hurst, your AIM will show the mounting.

Hi TimAT that's a pic of my shifter not the OP's. He hasn't posted a pic yet. tm

yes, the bolts look like they just fell out. The retainer with the notches has treads in it, is that all that holds the both on or should it have a nut too?

I would suggest the bolts in that picture are a couple threads short or they are not tight. A bolt should show a couple threads past a nut for proper retention.
