69 Wiper Operation/ Voltage questions
The wipers on my 69 do not work. I have fixed the vacuum cover side of things so that when you turn on the wiper at the dash switch the cover come up. But the arms do not operate. I also have messed with the **** below the steering column and that doesn't seem to do anything. How is that supposed to work? The fuse is fine. So I pulled the washer cover off and I see 3 wires going into the motor. Yellow blue and green.
Putting a volt meter to it the yellow seems to have voltage on it all the time.
Messing with the switch, I could also get the blue to read voltage at times
but never the green
Does anyone know which color wires should have voltage to them when?
Also, when I was checking voltages the meter probe hit the motor body
and it made the wipers move a bit but I couldn't do it again
Also, are there any other switches that may be affecting this?
Any advice would be appreciated

Good luck. Mine work but the washers work all the time.
I still can’t figure it out. But they have everything you need there.

The Wilcox info was gold! Thanks Wilcox
So following their directions, I chased the lack of main power back to the override switch. To my dismay, the switch had no wires going to it.
So getting under the dash, I find the two red wires that I am guessing go to the switch, but they have a weird connector on it.
I jumper the two wires on this connector and the wipers start working
So now the question becomes, what wire am I missing that goes from this connector to the override switch? I can cut off the end connector and extend the wires to the switch but is that all that is missing?
Thanks

Well the wiper motor did work, but then got hot to the touch
and now doesn't
Pulled it and bench tested, still doesn't work
Put a different wiper motor in the car and that does work
So now I need a new wiper motor or fix the old one
What is the best value out there?
I haven't even gotten to the washer pump
but its nasty too
Plus the passenger wiper arm is missing the metal washer tube
Can you get those anywhere?
Glenn
