Does anyone knows where to find listing of correct colors for diff, driveshafts, bell house, calipers, springs, steering parts, frame parts....?

Hello Hakan,
A 69 in Sweden… very nice!

Differential: natural cast iron gray.

Drive shaft/half shafts: natural extruded steel tubes, cast iron yokes/flanges.

Bell Housing: natural cast aluminum; with some engine orange overspray on the forward part.

Calipers; Low gloss black; painted before they were machined.

Front Springs: Forged steel; grayish/blue scale.
Rear springs: Medium gray with black plastic liners.

Steering parts: Most as cast or forged…. un-painted.

Frame: Semi-flat to Semi-gloss black.

If you have more specific questions just ask!

How about a few photos and a little information about your 69?
Regards,
Alan

Thanks Alan,
the car is a dec-69 Daytona yellow coupe, all important parts is matching # except carburettor (Holley) and radiator (alu). The car was imported from US this spring and i bought it a couple of weeks ago. Newer resprayed or restored, just normal maintenance. My plan is to keep the car as much original as possible, i will lift the body and sandblast/powder coat the frame.

Hi Hakan,
Well it sounds like a nice car!
It must be quite special to have an older Corvette in Sweden!
You probably get quite a bit of attention when you drive it!
I'd still like to see some photos when you get a chance to post them.
Good Luck as you get started on your project.
Regards,
Alan

You might think about buying the:
69 Assembly Instruction Manual
69 Chassis Service Manual
The 5th Edition of the NCRS 68-69 Technical Information Manual & Judging Guide.

Aren't you going to drive the car for a while before you take it apart?

In my opinion, 75% of the pleasure is the restauration project. If it's just about driving, I'd keep one of my previous Corvettes. I need to do something about the steering box and I want to improve the finish under the hood so the engine will came out. And when the engine is out the plan is to open it for check and replacement of bearings and gaskets (at least, depending on the condition). There is surface rust on the frame so I want to blast and paint for finish and protection. Even if the paint looks nice at 5 mtrs distance without glasses I will have the body resprayed when it's off the frame.

Hi Hakan,
The car looks like a nice one in the photos.
I understand what you mean about working on the car.
For some people there's great pleasure to be had in doing what a restoration requires.
I'll be interested in following the posts you make.
Regards,
Alan

As far as I understand there should be a cable connected here, the other end at the gearbox, can someone explain the function?

Very common. I'm glad you are undertaking the restoration once I saw the rad support rusted. My wife is from Denmark and there was 1 C-3 on her small island (Als)
but the owner wrecked it. Looking forward to your fantastic progress.

EDIT - looks like you have some documentation, how about a closer pic of the paperwork?

My wife is from Denmark as well. We are living in the Malmoe area so Copenhagen and Denmark is just 30mins away.

Hi Hakan
The lever on the steering column is connected to a cable that runs to the reverse lever on the transmission.
When the transmission is shifted into reverse the cable moves the steering column lever and locks the steering wheel from being turned.
It was considered a theft deterrent.
Regards,
Alan

The end of the cable connected to the reverse lever.
