Default New wheels-Input needed

I am contemplating buying the Year One cast aluminum Corvette Rally wheels in 17" size for my 78 Corvette. They have a backspace of 4.5 inches. I would like to know from those with more knowledge than I that these wheels would bolt on without any modifications such as spacers and the like. Any input would be appreciated.

They will bolt on without any problems. I would check steering lock to lock for tire frame touch, mainly depends on the size of your tires. Many have installed these wheels without spacers.

In my case, I decided to go with 1/2" spacers. Then you need longer wheel studs.

That's a Studebaker Avanti.

What width are you going to use ? if only 8" then the wheel will work but will look funny with the additional inward offsite.

if it is a 9" wheel then it will look the same as the factory 15x8" with 4" BS.

As Bikespace says, it's an Avanti.
It's my Brother's car, and officially it's a 1975 Avanti II. Still a fibreglass car. When Studebaker folded, Avanti continued under different private ownership.

My Brother's came with the original 400/4bbl SB Chevy, 400 TH Auto and original Studebaker Dana rear.

What a nifty car! I didn't realize they kept making them for so long without the Studebaker name. I saw them a lot when I used to attend orphan car meets with my Corvair.

I think you are going to want to run a spacer in the back with longer wheel studs. You may be able to get away with a 5/16" wheel spacer and deeper style lug nut without replacing studs.

I think those are actually Rev Classic 107 wheels. You can find them for about $650 for a set of 4 on ebay these days instead of the $900 or more Year One wants.

As pointed out, 4.5" of backspacing puts the wheels 1/2" further into the wheel wells compared to stock 8" wide wheels with 4" of backspacing. So they might look recessed a bit compared to other wheels.

Barry's70LT1 - Your car looks really good with them on it. I'm liking that look more than stock 15" rally wheels.

Thanks, I have no regrets, amazing improvement in driving with the 17" and Michelin's.
