Another Tire Question (I know)
I wanted to know if anyone was running a set up like this?
Front 235/70/15
Rear 275/60/15
Factory Rally Wheels
Here is the open door:
Why or Why not?

do you realize you front tire will be 27.95" in diameter and the rear 27.99, the typical C3 tire is 27" or less?
are you going with a relocated emergency brake cable in the rear?
I would go with at least a 245/60, 255/60 should also fit, in the front and a 255/60 in the rear.

no one asked but what engine trans and rear end ratio you have? thats one big factor as if its stock auto with 3.08 gears for example that 28 inch tire going to make it feel slower. im in a similar position right now i have 275 60 15 but tires are worn down and i need a smaller tire to optimize my big cam so debating between 275 50 15 or 295 50 15

factory 4-speed; 350, .60 over, upgraded cam (not sure right now which one) it is written down at the house, camel hump fuelie heads, 650 double pumper, Air Gap intake, Flowmaster exhaust. Rear is stock I need to crawl under and get the letters off of it for the ratio. I do like the look of the 275/60 and 245/60. Are they on 8 inch wheels?

Going wider on a narrow rim and the belt edges become unsupported in the tire. This causes excess flex and excess heat which could lead to the belt edges delaminating from the rubber and then ultimately throwing the tread off.
I run 265s on a 10" wide rim on my '71 street car and 275s on a 10.5" wheel on my '90 race car. The smaller tire on a wider rim has the opposite affect. A very little bit of stretch (barley noticable) will change the angle of the body plies running under the belt which helps to stiffen the sidewall and shoulder area making for more responsive handling (and also a stiffer ride).
