Default 383 storker

I have a 383 stroker. I bought it from a guy that bought the kit and took it to a Engine builder and he bored it out etc.... The engine only has 800 miles on it. But this guy didn't know much about cars. He didn't know the cam duration or nothing. It has a Holly 650 double pumper on it. With all the normal mods
I wonder what the HP is?Next spring I'll put it on a Dyno. Thanks.

This car feels as fast as my 2003 Z06 that I had. My 77 has also a TH 350. Heavy duty cluches and a shift kit. With a 3500stall. Tons of torque.

And I'm new to the C3 forum. And I've never had a 383.

Nothing but you should have just asked in your first post. Without knowing the specs its somewhere between 200-550.

Thanks resdoggie. I did ask what the HP was, If you read it. I just don't understand why I have to be on the defense. I was just trying to stir up some conversation.

I guess I didn't see a question there either. You 'wondered' about horsepower.
Eveybody has a 383, some make lots of power. Others, like mine, are touring motors. Not so much HP but geared toward high torque. Without complete specs on the engine it's anybody's guess.

No problem. But can you find out more about your engine build? The "kit" that was installed?

No. Because the guy I bought it from just bought a 383 kit. And gave it to a guy to build it. He gave me the guys number and I called him and he said that he just built it and didn't pay attention to the specks. The cam ect..... And he didn't bother to keep the paper work. Kinda stupid. The guy has a bunch of money. He didn't care.gezz...

Try timing your 0-60 mph several times and from there a rough HP estimate may be offered up other members who already have that info for their cars.
