any update on that custom steering box setup? I am pulling my engine tomorrow and have about 3 to 4 weeks to figure that out. It sure would help if I could take a look at your system.

Sorry Chris, but I am still under water time wise. Haven't turned a wrench in over a month! It looks like it will probably be November before I am able to proceed. I did receive the unit and would be happy to get together sometime in a couple weeks to show it to you. The unit is larger than the stock one; but, it doesn't look like it will fit any closer to the engine requiring me to dimple my headers.
The original mounting holes of the unit don't quite match up with the stock one; so, they have custom ground to the mounting flanges contour plates that fit over the mounting flanges and then redrilled the holes to fit our mount to the frame. The arrangement looks solid.
I think I am going through withdrawals from a lack of grease beneath my finger nails. Could this be called "Bubba With Drawl"? Could this statement be considered redundant, perhaps a double-entendre... OK, go ahead and groan, it's just a bad pun!

Hey Chuck, anytime you have time to show me the unit I will try to make time to come by. I work in santa clara and could stop by on a week night if that is convenient. I know about Bubba with drawl...I just pulled my motor and am as happy as a frog in a pond. Plenty of work ahead...
