Just converted my ‘82 to a TKO 5-speed and realized my stock exhaust is trash. So now I gotta start looking at some side pipes, but I’m not sure which headers I should get. I still have the original 350 with CFI. Any recommendations?
I don't know much about your Cross-fire setup, other than the fact it isn't exactly considered the pinnacle of Corvette performance. However, I have a '79 with Hooker Super Comp headers connected to a factory style dual exhaust from Corvette Central. It requires fabricating a short piece of pipe on both sides to connect the headers tot he exhaust system. I also added a balance tube connecting the right and left just behind the crossmember. Very happy with the whole setup. Everything fits nicely and its pretty quiet. If you want more exhaust note, the same system is available with Magnaflow mufflers. I don't know how the reduction in back pressure will affect the Cross-fire system, but my guess is it will work fine, and if not it might be a good time to move up to a good 4 barrel, or even better, aftermarket EFI. If you go with the headers, make sure to get them coated. They aren't cheap and its hard to keep paint on them.

I have OBX on my 1980 with no fitment trouble at all, even with a factory 4 speed with the Z-bar clutch linkage.
