Thanks to Alan71, David Howard and Dennis Bman for the plans and brain picks on the dolly. Since the dolly is only being used for transport I decided to mount the body to the rails of the dolly to keep it lower. After the pics, I ran 2 straps through the cockpit and under and around the dolly. Also ran one around the front radiator support crossmember. This thing is as solid as it can get. All safe in the trailer and ready for the ride tomorrow.

looks good .
you will definitely get a few stares driving down the road with that behind you.
got all the small pieces accounted for ? , nothing worse than rolling up to a painter missing pieces.

Looks good.
You are just a bit ahead of me.
I did the Alan dolly but my painter wanted me to cut it back so he could repair and paint the bottom of the front valence easier.
So we did.
Keep us updated.

Hey Bill....that came out nice for what you are using it for.
Have a safe and dry trip.
You sure got lucky with this patch of weather.
Let me know if you need anything.

Going black Jim, with some stripes. Kind of a road race theme. Getting ready to build the chassis. Mike Dyer had some modifying to do to my Ridetech trailing arms to work with the 1480 axles but he is just about done.

You know what they say.... Once you go black....
Sub'd for the progress pics!
Mine goes into paint next month also...I'm not pulling the body though, just a drive in/drive out job. Mine will never be show quality....lol

Lol, yea so I have heard. Well by all means I am going to try to beat this thing up. Hopefully I have the Driveline now to handle it.
Jim, going to stay stock on the body. The Ridetech stuff in the rear will let me to get at least a 295 in back. Going to stay 15’s with the Avon DOT legal road race tires. This is the car I have always loved and might copy this scheme. Love black and orange and these are the wheels I already have. Going long L88 hood but no sidepipes. Had a nice stainless 421 header and 3 inch undercar system built for it. Trying to get it as light as possible as well. No heater, radio, vacuum anything, spare tire, rear leaf spring, Wilwood calipers, manual steering and brakes and all aluminum on the engine except the block. Light as hell PS Engineering Trans Am Wheels. Adding a little weight with the 1480 rear end and Ricks stainless gas tank with in Tank pump and other little things but think I should be fairly close to 3000 or so. Actually going to copy your fuel system ideas Alan, though might go to the Teflon lines. Oh and a fully seam welded and gussetted frame. Going to do a thread pretty quick on the chassis build. Gotta get it up to the painters asap. Thanks guys. Your cars are two of the cars that inspire me here. They look great and perform even better. And if you put Alan’s and my engine together, we still come up short to yours Jim lol!

Hey Dennis, staying pretty stock on the inside but probably go with some lighter seats. Hung the control arms on the chassis tonight. Bout as much as I can do after the surgery but felt good anyway. Hope you had a good Christmas.

I love seeing a bunch of the heavy hitters get together in a thread. Bill, good luck. That's going to be killer when you're done! That paint scheme with the overhead view would look awesome with either red or orange stripes against the black.
Alan, please keep us posted on progress and good luck with yours.

I like it!
Will you use a black bumper? Will it have rear bumpers? Metal or 'glass ones? I like shiny stuff so thinking some OEM type plasti-chroming or some of that new brush on chrome they keep showing. Or wrapped?
What about headlights? No pop up anymore for weight?
A buddy of mine did his this way. Sort of a quasi- Motion look on rear.....and a killer 555" we built for it! (it's for sale if you know someone looking for a new ride!)

Thanks Les, you can add your car to my favorites list here, both cars. Yea, I first saw this car in that famous road race thread some 10 years ago. Have always loved the look. Kind of done with sidepipes though. Had them for 10 years and only way to keep the power was to have it loud and I am just done with that, as good as they do look. Guess I am getting old! Thanks for the thoughts and keep the ideas coming. What are your thoughts on the bumpers?
Jim, kind of decided I am going to go with the glass bumpers. Probably go body color on the front like that car but not sure yet. I like chrome too. Probably going to keep the rear bumpers, only because I don’t think it would look right with tail pipes sticking out the back with no bumper. Curious what you all think about that? Going to stay with stock headlights, as heavy as they are, but use electric motors, like Detroit Speed’s kit. I remember Bruiser, Tracdogg talks about that car. I remember the build. Didn’t realize he was selling it. What a great car. He went on the Bowling Green trip with you if I remember right. Thanks and keep the thoughts coming.
Oh here is a picture of the back of that car. Look how he did the differential cooler. Going to go to the four taillights on mine as well. Probably need a license plate rather than the cooler though lol!

Thanks Neil, yours is another car here that I just love! As you said on my other post, your front is glass, but wondering where you got it. I also saw where you said you left all the supports in. Would love to run without the back bumpers, but just don’t think it would look right with the exhaust coming out the back.
