Tach question

Can you by chance test a tach board with a volt, ohm meter to see if it is the problem or with the wireing. I am not sure if you can check continuity on a tach board. Thanks for any help.

Thanks MelWff for the help. I should have said the tach board is off of the tach and it looks like it might have a dark spot on one corner. I thought you could put one probe on power and one on ground and would get a signal. And then do one to the input of the tach and get some reading. When it comes to electrical if a switch does not have off and on I would not be able to figure which way to flip it. I am pretty sure the board is toast. It has never worked as long as I have had it which is going on four years. I had to pull the dash to replace the speaker on that side. And while I am at it I bought a used dash that was in perfect shape, other than wrong color. You know how that goes while you are at it, there is always something else. Thanks again
