70 convertible interior questions
Also, there is this black vent and it appears I am missing something that attaches to it? Can one of you experts help this newby? Thanks

Great looking 70 convertible.
Does the car have air conditioning?
If so, it appears part of the duct work is missing (or at least not installed properly. Part #5 in the drawing.
If missing the duct looks somewhat like this.

Alan
It directs air to the round vent in the corner of the dash pad.
This drawing is from the Assembly Instruction Manual. It's referred to as the AIM... do you know about it?
There should be a console 'extension' on each side of the shifter console.
This happens to be the right side.

Hi Alan...thanks for your reply.
Yes, the car has factory air, but is non-functional at this point. I had a feeling it was part of the ventilation system, I hope to get the AC working by Spring.
I was not familar with AIM, but I am now and will get it asap. Is it available somewhere here as a download? I will search.
Thanks
Because the AIM is such a valuable tool there's no reason to give it away... so I don't know of a down-load that's available.
I also feel the printed version is far more useful than the CD versions. When using the printed version you actually get to learn about the car.
Even at about $25-$30 it's value far exceeds its price.
Be sure you get the 70 edition.
Think about a 70 Chassis Service Manual too!

Alan

Hi Alan....agreed, $25 is a very fair price for all that valuable information. Thanks again for your help.

Thanks Jim....will you be my new best friend?1 Ha.
Agree that original parts are better than the re-popped parts that are mostly made in China. I've been searching eBay for original parts, there are a minimal amount.
Good idea about checking this forum, I will place a Parts Needed thread.
Thanks again.
PS. Would like to see a pic of your car.
