Default Oil primer

I think I have a problem here, I guess that is what I've had problems getting oil to some of the rocker arms.

I will make a new, that will be like the HEI unit.

I guess I'm not seeing the issue. Looks fine to me. I believe that is a Moroso unit.
As long as you are getting a good seal and oil is not coming out of the dizzy hole, its fine.
You may not always get a gusher at the rockers. It will depend on where the lifter is in the bore in relation to the oil holes in the oil galley. So, rotate the crank a half a turn and hit the primer tool again with several hundred RPMs. It may also take a long time for oil to show up at the rocker. I have heard stories of taking over 20-30 minutes to get oil showing up.
The main thing is your gauge reading. I hope you are using a drill with gobs of torque.
And obviously you will have to set the timing marks at TDC before dropping in the dizzy.

Problem solved. Forum reference number: BS #2.
That will be $119.
How would you like to make your payment? Would you prefer installments?

When I prime my engines I spin the oil pump for about a minute at #1 TDC, then a minute at #4 TDC, then a minute at #6 TDC, then a minute at #7. That'll usually fill all 16 of the lifters.

Just curious - why is it important to prime until you get oil to the rockers? If you used assembly lube all that matters is oil to the bearings IMHO

I do it to verify oil is getting to where it needs to, ie, there are no restrictions in the pushrods or lifters.

if you are using edge orifice solid lifter fill them with oil before you install them as this will speed up getting oil to the rockers.
