I'm kicking around the idea of switching up to an aftermarket frame, does anyone have any experience with them? I'm looking to get rid of the flexing and looking for the ability to put down more power to the rearend. I run a 427 small block with a Tremec 5 spd.

All replacement frames are ladder type, so you're not going to get rid of flex. Some of the replacement frames look a helluva lot heavier, so you might get some improvement there, but I have yet to see any aftermarket frame supplier publish their weight and torsional strength numbers.
There's been a whole lot of fast dragstrip and roundy round races won on stock frames.
I added some reinforcing to mine and a 6 point rollbar and it works fine. While a new super stiff one might be nice....not sure it's needed for a 427 with a Tremec.

The SRIII frames are an amazing piece of art. Sad to put a car on top of them. Not sure how heavy they are. One thing I don't like about them is since they use later Corvette suspension parts they push the hub all the way out to the edge of the wheel like newer corvettes. Just a personal preference but I like to see some dish in the wheels.
Not all of them are ladder type. Roadster shop and others make more conventional frames that used updated components.

If it fits under a C2 or C3 it's pretty much a two dimensional ladder frame.
