Serrated bolt replacement on upper control arms...
I'm changing out front suspension to Global West upper and lower control arms. The instructions detail how to remove and replace the serrated bolts that attach the crossbar on the UCA's to the frame. I would like to ream out the serrations in 7/16" hole on the frame in order to replace the bolts with new Grade 8 bolts with Nylock nuts. Tech at Global West stated that would not be an issue with their arms...apparently the stock arms render the bolt head inaccessible.
I figure if anyone wanted to go back to stock that they could just tack weld new flange bolts in place?
Comments/Recommendations welcome!
Thanks!
