Default vacuum control

I am trying to test my vacuum control and have a question. If I put the input on #1 and turn the selector to off should I a vacuum. With the unit assembled it won’t hold a vacuum but testing each hose separately you can hear the control open and it will hold a pressure. Do I have a bad selector?

Check the technical section on Wilcox Corvette's website.

I believe I saw the vacuum diagram for the earlier models there.

Good Luck
Craig

Just looked again. There is one for a '74 there.

Hi g,
A/C car or not?
Here's the heater/defroster controller vacuum function chart from the 71 AIM for an A/C car.
I'm unsure how different the controller connections for a 73 (?) controller/system might be.
Maybe a help?
Regards,
Alan

I have a schematic but what I am trying to find out is with just the selector will it hold a vacuum in the off position. I am connecting the vac pump to the number 1 port. With all the ports connected it will not hold a vacuum. Not sur if the leak is in the selector.

Hi G,
According to the chart when the thumb-wheel is in the OFF position:
Ports 1, 2, 3, 8, 9 should hold vacuum
while
Ports 5, 6 should be vented.
Regards,
Alan
