Do you know what all is involved? I am planning to put new heads, cam & lifters, and header side pipes. I will have an O2 bung installed in the collector of the headers, but will I need to do something additional regarding the computer?

From what I understand the computer controls the carburetor, distributor, smog pump and transmission if you have an automatic.

Yes, and the EGR as well.

Sensors include water temp., oxygen sensor, and MAP sensor.

The cam needs to be in the parameters of the computer.

If outside those parameters, you need to ditch the computer, and use a manual dizzy.

manifold air pressure is where you might have trouble
depending on how much cam and vacuum levels.
can't think about the range just now,
if it is a mild cam and you get decent vacuum you should be ok
