Safety Car
There are a lot of books and DVDs on how to rebuild trans., and everything about working on your car... There are some good videos on YouTube, but also a lot of bad info, so be careful...good luck..

As for your question about the transmission, here is what you need:
- Buy one of the many good books on "How to Rebuild your TH350 Transmisssion."
- Buy the specialty tools required, which will include the transmission holding fixture, front pump puller, clutch drum spring compression tool, accumulator cover compression tool, and an assortment of good outside and inside snap ring pliers. This assumes you already have a good selection of standard hand tools.
- Get a bag of kitty litter and a big drip pan.
- Pull the tranny out of the car.
- Disassemble it using the book and tools you bought above, cleaning up the mess using the bag of kitty litter.
The TH350 is not difficult to rebuild if you have some technical ability, and the literature available on the subject is plentiful and good.
But I'd still get the car started and running before dropping the tranny out of it...
