I had been doing some interior work on my car so I can disconnected the battery. Basically car didn't run for maybe a Month or more. Once I was done the car started right up, ran for about 8 min and then it stalled, couldn't get it to run after that. Only runs off of gas I pour down the Carb, in the 5 seconds it runs with gas down the Carb i pushed the gas pedal down all the way and Nothing, like the pedal wouldn't give any gas. I've got a 1976 vette. And the tank does have gas in it.
what have you checked????
fuel filter in the carb(stock carb?)
is it getting spark??
need to know what has been done lately besides disconnecting the battery. That should not do anything to the motor.
a little more info might help us here, IMO>
WELCOME to the forum.
go to basics.
disconnect fuel line to carb.
remove power to coil.
put fuel line ine a bottle/can to catch
fuel if it pumps.
crank motor and check bottle/can for gas.
if you have a fuel pressure gauge use it.
depending on pump test, go to next step/ possible blockage

spark is good and filter is okay, but my metal gas line has a little kink to it and when I push the pedal down no gas comes out.

I agree. Disconnect the fuel line from the carb and put it in a bottle to catch the fuel.( DISCONNECT THE POWER FROM THE DISTRIBUTOR TO PREVENT SPARKS AND DON'T ASK ME HOW I KNOW THIS - SUFFICE IT TO SAY IT WAS A MEMORABLE DAY.) Have someone engage the starter for a few seconds to see if fuel is being delivered. If not, start tracing it back. Most likely the pump.
