Front lower control arm bumper
Today I noticed the existence of this part (#3742252) on the original cars and the non-existence of them in my car.
Does anyone know what they are for? and more important... Do I need them?
Thanks!

Hi f,
The rubber bumper is there to prevent the lower control arm from crashing into the bottom of the frame when the car hits a bump severe enough to have the arm rise to the full extent of it's travel.
Do you need it? ???
Regards,
Alan
The bumper.
The rubber bumper contacts the frame in this little indentation.

Only people dumb enough to take their vette off road 4 wheel driving need it. Other than that it is worthless unsprung weight on the front end and just excess junk on the rear end
if you hit or landed hard enough to bottom out your shocks and springs are you dumb enough to believe that the rubber bumper is going to save your vette?
back when I first installed my vb&p 550 front springs I did some measurements of a-arm travel with out a spring installed I saw right away that those rubber bumper blocks were worthless
the smarter person replaces old sagging front springs

I'm putting VBPs 550 springs and don't think I will ever going to need the bumpers. Skipping them for now, will review the decision once the car rolls.
