73 electrical question.
In the process of putting the gauge section back in and have noticed a strange occurrence. The amp meter will jump about half way to 20 on the discharge side every 10 seconds. It does this with the key off, on, with the motor running. OK electrical experts what do I need to look for.

Do you have a diagnostic amp meter to see if it is actually drawing current?
Are you causing it when you push the center section back? (in which case you are likely shorting something).
Do you hear a click like a circuit breaker opening and resetting? ( the only breaker I am aware of is the power window breaker.)
Did it occur before you took the center section out?
Some of these answers may help you to diagnose the problem.
