Just a note here on Heat Range code numbers, which I believe is the last digit of the part number:
Some sparkplug manufacturers heat ranges are from 1 - 9 with nine being the hottest plug.
Other manufacturers use 1 - 9 with nine being the coldest.
Isn't that insane?

You will find that for most stock motors, any good brand is about the same as any other .. NGK, Autolite, AC Delco Bosch.. all fine in the proper heat range .. Don t waste big bucks on exotic plugs.. Not worth it! .. I do make exception for Champion plugs.. I have seen so many Champions fail in my Marine engines, I no longer buy anything Champion

Terrible luck with Champion plugs. Others all seem to be good. Personally I like Accel, partly because their shorties clear my headers better.
I've run AC R44T since day one in my stock '72 350 base engine. They work just fine.

Just for info purposes the R44T is a 5/8" type plug with a tapered seat, no gasket. The 1969 head used the 3/4" type plug with a gasket, no tapered seat.
