Default big block 427 dieseling
What is the best way to correct dieseling on a big block chevy motor. I'm seeing many various option on this forum that I am not certain is the best answer. Thanks!

Let's start with the easy stuff. Could you please pull out one of the rear most plugs and tell us that part number and take a picture of the tip

run some GM top engine cleaner to remove the carbon from the pistons that is glowing red hot.

Check your idle timing and idle speed. A simple first step that costs you nothing but your time.

Secondary throttle plate not closing far enough.

Why would you make that statement without first asking what type of carburetor, Holley, Quadrajet, Edelbrock?
