The cheapest stuff you can find on the bottom shelf at Walmart. It really doesn't matter, most will end up on the ground anyway. Thats just the way it is.

My 82 has never leaked power steering fluid, but last year I replaced all of power steering hoses... The old ones were starting to crack and looked like they did there time... Trying to fill and check the fluid was a pain...
have seen on this forum that it does not matter and that its important to use good fluid. For me my power steering was not working as well as I thought it should .the repair that I had read was ,flush out old fluid. replace with lucas power steering fluid.at the same time I replaced fluid lines.I cant say for sure what worked , but that's what worked for me.

Hi Terry,
Thank you for your reply. How many quarts did you use to refill the system?
It's not very much. Two quarts should be more than enough from what I remember. There is a dipstick inside the cap. Just keep adding fluid until it's at the mark.

after adding the fluid to the fill line turn the steering wheel full left then full right .it gets the air out.then go for a drive .then check fluid level again.

I had that issue till I installed a NEW Lone Star control valve. No leaks for 5 years now.All the cores are just worn out.
