I'm going to put a big block in my 75, How do I know if I need to run a short water pump or long? I do plan on electric fans. Will run power steering pump, alternator, and eventually an A/C. I'm sure I'll have plenty more questions. Thanks Ryan
That's actually a cleaner/simpler more reliable way to do it with the long pump.
Mine is put together with C3 stuff and misc. The alt bracket is an iron C3 one, the PS pump bracket is generic GM. I have one belt running from crank to just water pump. Another goes around water pump and PS pump and then alternator runs off the PS pump like a C3. It works great and has never lost a belt even at 8000+ RPM. The upper alt bracket is just a generic chrome aftermarket one.
