I finally got a set of hedman headers that will fit my stock side exhaust but the passenger side headers are hitting the idler arm and I cant tighten all the bolts?
Is there a slimmer idler arm that I can replace?
Thanks
Joe

I have the Hedman Hedders for stock side exhaust (small block). I have no issues with the idler arm.
It's a Moog idler arm, been on there for many years. Moog most likely are still using the same design. http://www.moogparts.ca/parts/steering/idler-arms.html

I have the ceramic coated headmans on my 72 but they have been on there a long time. Years ago Headman had an issue with the tubes hitting the idler arm bolt but from what I remember hearing they corrected this. What number did you purchase?
I used HED-68306. And to install them we had to put a ping in the passenger side to get them installed. It worked, I didn't want to do this but like I said above and from what I understand headman fixed this issue.... (Oh, my 72 is a s/b too)

My ones hit the idler arm I needed to give it alittle dent there, not much and it fits fine now, it was the grease nipple that touched
I have the 68286
If I remember correctly there are two Moog idler arms. One is a heavy duty and one a standard. The standard is smaller in size to the heavy duty arm. Maybe you could put the standard one one and save some space?
