Default factor in the cool

Ever factor in the price of  when estimating the value of your vette. I planned on having to buy many after market mods for the tranny, the suspension, new seats, and a host of what were rumored to be problematic mechanical problems for a car built during one of GM's major late 70's cost cutting binges.
Well, I expected to pay alot of money on a fixer upper. Yet, i began to realize that their are certain aspect of the car that of set all the maintainence woes and other crap i heard about before buying. 1st of all, i have aluminum rally wheels, they are as nice as any after market rims i have seen and as such add a  factor worth the lowest price to replace them with other newer rims that look as good. say about $1500 ( I have bling-bling with-out the cost-cost) not inculding spacers and labor. Then there is the chrome rearviews( more free bling-bling) That i can subtract far the cost of ownership. If i had chrome bumpers i could rent out the car for rap videos (the chrome bumpers are the ultimate bling 4 those chrome obsessed rappers). The natural V8 chevy small block, true dual exhuast and headers create a natural concert that fart cans cant imitate. So the cost of a new fart can pipe must be subtracted from the cost of ownership despite the fact that no vette owner in his right mind would ever buy one!( probably another $1000) If your have a chrome bumper car that had true dual exhuast from the factory then your are again heads and tails above everybody else, but mines has that too so we're even there. How about the handling, this is a bit up in the air as many of you are buying steeriods( good luck with that) but i love the MANLY effort required to toss my car ( she corners flat) so i will personaly be subtracting the cost of steeroids from my car. Pop-up head light are another good one becasue they add tons of sex appeal. to bad mine dont do that anymore but since it had those after market fixed lights apun purchase i will add that to my  cost and subtract from ownership cost as well!
And finally, there is the fiverglass shell itself. her body never rust and never will and the cost of de-rusting a 25 year old car must be added to  cost. As well as the fact that only a few cars actually look as good or better. Lambo Muiria, Pantera, Ford GT-40, 360 Modena, Tesstarossa, Viper GTS, and most older ferrari apply as good loking or better then our sharks. That means you have toadd the price of all those cxars up and subtract therm from your c3 shark ownership! Yes, it's True!!! :D :D :D

Yo Shark, there is no doubt in my mind that the C3 is by far the  est car and best performance for the money. My 79 has a Chevy crate, fast burn aluminum heads, ceramic coated headers, and true dual exhaust. HOWEVER, it is still a 24-year-old car. Since purchase in April of this year, I have had to purchase the following to keep running (and stopping):
Two calipers + labor $380
One master cyl + labor $85
Exhaust system + labor $900
Power steering pump $85
Power steering hoses $65
Stereo $500
Rear end rebuild + labor $340
TOTAL $2355
The only item I anticipated was the stereo, leaving me with $1855 unanticipated out-of-pocket cash. Worth it? You bet!!! Fuel injection by January, assuming no major necessary maintenance items come up.
