81 corvette ecu issues??

Default 81 corvette ecu issues??

Hi
I'm new to the site and have some issues with my 81 corvette that i just purchased months ago. The ECU doesn't look like its from a 81 and looks as if it was modified, no check engine lights come on.....I'm attaching pics, it looks like a GM ecu but pics ive seen for 81 look different .....please advise would appreciate it...

Not sure what that is but it sure doesn’t look like the end I have in my 81. Where was that mounted at? The eco or ccc is mounted on the battery compartment wall in front of the battery.

I think your holding the alarm module.

Im not sure its located in the box next to the battery with 2 other relays next to it...i have the car apart and doesnt seem there is no other computer.....so maybe it was converted to manual running......i do have the dash apart so this module i believe is whats running it....does someone have a pic of the alarm module ??

If someone took the computer out then hopefully they changed the carb and distributor too. Take a picture of the top of the carb and we’ll be able to tell if the computer is still in there.

I agree. If there's nothing in front of the battery, then post a pic of the car and distributor. They need to be changed if the Ecu is gone. Would also expect the wiring for it to still be in place

Actually, the carb will work just fine unplugged. It leans out the mixture when running the ecm, and works just fine unplugged. Install a 4 pin HEI and run it.

look at the battery , in front of it against the wall its tucked under there.
