I just finished reassembling my driver side dash on my 76 and when I went to start it up for the first time after installing the dash, I got a bright spark as soon as I tapped the clutch pedal! Also the lights to my tachometer no longer work, but the ones for the speedometer do. Could one of you Corvette experts help me to figure out what could be causing this spark?

My best advice is take the dash back out and look for the pinched wire. You will have to do it anyhow to fix it. Sorry bud. Best advice I can give.

You could look around the clutch pedal for the source, but you're still going to need to pull the dash to inspect the wire harness at the very minimum..

the tach and speedo have seperate grounds, you may have shorted one of those wires to a power source, but yes, Enjoy the long weekend pulling the dash, again. I've been there. Good luck

I'd suspect the flash you saw was the fuse blowing. Check your fuses and see if one is blown. Then when you've identified what it's for, go from there and check (trace) that circuit and see what's pinched or grounded out. Could save you having to pull the dash, again.
