Default howdo i curve distributor for performance

looking to put alittle more zip in my '71 350/270 auto would like to curve dist. but don't know how. thanks

There are a couple of great articles on this in the http://www.corvettefaq.com site, including at least one by Lars. Basically you want to start with about 35 degrees of mechanical advance at 2600 rpm, then start reducing the amount of advance a couple dgrees at a time if the engine develops pre-ignition ping. The articles go into great detail, and also how to select the correct vacuum advance servo.

The best way is to pull the distributor and have someone with a dist. machine recurve it. The easiest way would probably be to buy the kit from C/F resident recurver Lars. ...redvetracr
