Default 69 auto, hei and mini starter question

69 vette. Build 383. I put a mini starter on and noticed that it only has a 2 post setup. With a blade connection. The largest post is obv to not disconnect. How do I hook up the 2 post mini starter that has a blade connection correctly to my wire harness ? With the hei. Im a little lost. Should I get a different starter ?

shouldnt the HEI power be connected to the IGN blade in the fuse box with a inline fuse to get a constant 12 volts?

If you have an HEI distributor, you do not need the ballast bypass post. You do need to eliminate the ballast that was there for the points ignition. You need full 12 volts to the HEI.

Ok. So my 10 gauge wire from battery will goto the post on the starter. Purple will have to be adapted to fit on the blade style post. Red goes to hei? If it seems like i am confused I am!

or. Do I run the purple modified to the blade. Battery to the large post and hei seperatly to the fuse box picking up 12 when the key comes on. without needing the other connections. I will use the ground connnection at the harness. I shouldnt need the red, or yellow wire ? M should I cap them off

forgetting the type of starter for a second, the HEI needs 12 volts whether cranking or running and you get that from the fuse box. Test it with a voltmeter. Secondly, didn't this starter come with instructions?

Negative. No instructions.. I called them and they advised that the top post will be constant 12 volts from the battery. And the blade post is a switch. So the question is I guess. Which color on my wiring harness to use for the switch. And what do I do with the rest of them besides the obv ground. Thanks

The Purple wire is the START wire. You need to attach it to the spade terminal. Ignore the other wire (yellow?) it is only used for points ignitions. Tape it out of the way.

The HEI is not part of the starter circuit.
