Does a Q-Jet w/ext filter still get internal filter?

Does a Q-Jet w/ext filter still get internal filter?
My L36 427 has the bigger metal factory canister filter that goes inline after the pump.
Does it still need the little filter that goes in the inlet of the Q-Jet then?
Would GM have shipped a car with BOTH filters?

Is the body of the q-jet marked for a filter?
Is the q-jet the proper q-jet for your 427 application?
The 68-69 TIM&JG has a couple of photos showing the carburetor with the Filter notation, and mentions that the q-jet carbs had the internal filters.
So both were in place when the car left St.Loius apparently.
