Need help with a presistant ignition ping

cagotzmann - Listening to audio on computer speakers is tough sometimes. I can hear what your talking about but it's difficult to tell if this is the same noise I'm getting but you gave me another piece of the puzzle. I do have my old flywheel that I can reinstall if I get to that point.

Does this 'pinging' noise ONLY occur when you are giving the engine more fuel/gas while it is being driven and under a load?
I know that the spring for the solenoid can go bad and allow the bendix of the starter to come out and tap on the spinning flywheel and make a pinging noise.
Without a good video where we can hear it...helping you is really hard ...because I know for myself.... I do not want to send you on a wild goose chase.

Thanks DUB and this has been a wild goose chase for a while now. Yes, like I mentioned I can get partial throttle "ping" out but then it does it at WOT then I re-curve and get WOT "ping" out and have it a partial throttle application. I'll try and get some audio and post it up. Hopefully it will be good and you guys can hear it.
I really hate recreating this "ping" and I don't want it to turn into a loud BANG and ruin my day.
