Why not just go to your local flaps and buy a new one... Get some black RTV, the gaskets will come with the rebuilt unit... 2 hours you'll be back together.
So do both. Put on a 30 buck water pump, then send the Eddy unit out. Also then you have a spare. Which means pump will never fail again.
Did some quick research. Advance and O'Reilly don't have the Corvette specific BBC water pump (short height with 3/4" shaft, which I need for the March pulleys). NAPA and Autozone have ones that they list as fit but they are special order.
Plus, I have been bitten by cheap water pumps before (especially with the 496) and FL heat.
Pulled water pump. It stopped making noise but there is evidence of seepage from the weep hole. Replacement on its way. This one will probably go back to Edelbrock to be rebuilt for a spare.

Is the car a Big block... because if it is.. you are going to have issues with rebuilt units.... If you purchase a rebuilt unit make sure it's an original casting because the aftermarket pumps are made wrong and you'll have pully's rubbing the pump.

Thanks, it is an Edelbrock pump with a March serpentine pulley system. Plenty of pulley clearance.
