heres a starting point...after its warmed up the choke is no longer making the car richer.....try to figure out why its leaning out
This is a 1982 and there is no choke...it is fuel injected.

Also, if it's popping/backfiring are you setting a CEL (check engine light)? Does the light ever come on? If so, pull the codes and see what is going on. Like mentioned, we need more information what has happened to give you a better course of action.
