Default EFI Holley sniper return line

I have an 81 vette I put a EFi sniper on. After having issues with hard starts when hot and erratic idle on start up when hot, finally figured out my return line is restricted back to the gas tank causing the fuel pressure to go from 60-65 which is normal up to 120 PSI and flooding the EFI. We used the 3/8" supply line that come with the EFI kit for the supply line to throttle body back straight to tank. The return line I just used the old metal line going back to the tank that the old original Carb used which is smaller than 3/8". Was wondering for ones that have installed the EFI which return line did you use? The one on top of the tank next to the supply line or the one on the other side that im using now, The one next to the supply line just dumps straight into the tank. The return line on the other side that I am using has a filter on it inside of the sending unit. I believe this is causing some restrictions also? Thanks for any reply's.

I haven’t put mine back together yet buy I’m building my 69 with EFI and am running the return to the bottom of the tank. I believe the return line needs to be below fuel level at all times.

Yes that’s correct. The Holley tech said you could run a hose line inside the tank to where it goes into the tank to the bottom of the tank all on the inside to keep below the fuel level, like you said so it stays below the fuel level at all times. It I like the idea of putting a connection at the bottom of the tank.

That is not a return line. It is the vent for your fuel tank and should hook up to your charcoal canister. How are you venting your tank?

You could use a C5 regulator, check the Sniper installs on here.
