Default Need help with head data [LS5]

stock 454 cast iron heads for '72 LS5
casting number: 3999241
open-chamber, oval-port
2.06/1.72 valves

113cc chamber volume???
XXXcc intake runner volume???

How similar is this to GM 049 heads in terms of flow?
http://www.chevyhiperformance.com/ed...0viewtype=text

049 was for '73 LS4
290 was for '70 LS5
correct?

Does anyone have data for:
820 for '71 LS5
241 for '72 LS5

As far as flow numbers, you'll see that he 049 is slightly better on the intake but flows noticeably more on the exhaust then the 290. 290 is the correct number for a 70 LS-5. The books I have only show the cc's for the cumbustion chambers on the 241 (my book says 114cc), I'd imagine the 820 head would be very similiar in cc's. Now I do have a book that lists the cc's for the intake and exhaust for the 820 and 241, but I don't believe they are correct, since most of their 049 specs are wrong, I wish I had 110cc chambers like they say

Ed at http://www.mortec.com has some great info. I have a set of aluminum 074 heads that I had questions about and he gave me all I wanted plus some. Give him a try.

To me, it sounds safe to use the flow numbers from the '73+ heads for my '72.
