Default Normal Idle?

1977 Corvette

Holley 650 DP
Edelbrock intake
MSD Ready to run Dizzy
Unknown Cam (other than HFT)--maybe a step over stock? No noticeable lope, etc. I believe the motor was rebuilt/replaced at some time prior to my ownership.
17" steady vacuum at idle (1150 RPM)
10* initial + Full manifold vacuum
25* mechanical stop bushing
35* total, all in by 2800
TH350 Auto

Idles At a steady 600 in gear.
When I put it in park, it pulls the idle to 1150-1200.

The 1200 seems high to me for the curb idle--shouldn't be around 1050-1100, or am i being too much of a perfectionist?

1969 I set the curb idle at 850 to get 700 in gear with a 400turbo. I suspect that 1200 you get engine run on [dieseling] after turning key off. What does the engine idle at with the A/C on? What is the vacuum at the 600 rpm level? 17" lbs at 1150 rpm seems low, my 434 with a cam gets 20lbs at idle. What type of exhaust system is on the car? Let us know,T

No AC on the car.

no run on issues whatsoever.

have not checked the vacuum at 600rpm

exhaust is a true dual hooker mandrel bent 2.25”, long tube hooker headers
